Great you are visiting these pages! I am Nicolas and was born on 1th of June 1980. Growing up with the first 16-bit computers made me wonder how all this technology is working from the bottom up. I was less interested in consuming digital media, much more I had my own dreams about what I could realise.
So I followed my interests and focused on natural sciences, technology and engineering throughout my educational years.
After finishing primary and secondary school I attended the grammar school in St.Gallen for 4 years. This opened the doors for the university and it was time to go deeper into real science and engineering.
I concentrated on the basics of economics and computer science the following 3 years. This involved stochastics, macroeconomics and business administration, some fundamentals of mathematics (logic, numerics and analysis) and computational algorithms. This resulted in gathering the Bachelor of Science award from the University of Zurich (UZH) in the year 2006.
After acquiring all the basics, it was time to continue my education in the field of advanced ICT. I was intensively involved with database systems, central and distributed network and communication systems, multimedia systems and software engineering. Another great passion I discovered during the Master’s program was the field of artificial intelligence and the use of artificial neural networks for solving ordinary and partial differential equations. I received the Master of Science award from the University of Zurich (UZH) in the year 2009.
In addition to my profession as software engineer, I am also interested in nature, photography and the history of the last century.
