Building a Robot from Scratch: The Cataglyphis Fortis Ant [Videos]

 

These videos present the results of the seminar work. The first three videos show the particular sensory modules that we implemented for simulating the foraging behaviour of the Cataglyphis Fortis ant. These are:

1. Obstacle Avoidance (twin IR distance sensors)

2. Pheromone Tracking (light and photo sensors)

3. Thermal Detection (thermal sensors)

The fourth video presents the final results after we combined these three modules for emulating the foraging behaviour of the Cataglyphis Fortis ant. More detailed information can be found in the written report.
